Getting started with
agricultural spray timing

Spraying is a weather decision as much as an agronomic one. Get the window right and product lands where it should and does its job; get it wrong and you risk drift onto neighbours, wasted product, poor control, and rework - sometimes all in the same pass.

• Drift - too much wind carries spray off-target; dead calm can be worse, trapping it in an inversion.
• Evaporation - hot, dry air shrinks droplets before they land, cutting the dose that reaches the target.
• Efficacy - temperature and humidity change how well many products are taken up by the plant.
• Rainfastness - rain too soon after spraying can wash product off before it has set.

A good spray window is a balance of several conditions at once. Erode brings them together for your field so you can read the whole picture instead of checking feeds one at a time.

• Wind speed - a light, steady breeze is ideal; too strong risks drift, too still risks an inversion.
• Wind direction - which way any drift would travel, and what sits downwind.
• Temperature and humidity - together they set evaporation and droplet survival, often read as Delta-T.
• Inversions - stable, still air near dawn and dusk can hold spray low and move it unpredictably.
• Rain-free window - enough dry time after spraying for the product to become rainfast.

Add your fields as assets so Erode reads conditions for the exact ground you spray - the wind, temperature, and humidity over each field.
